For Ethereum, SettleMint provides support for the Geth client. This means that when you add an Ethereum node, you get a Geth node by default.

All Geth nodes running in SettleMint are configured to be full nodes.

Full nodes store a complete copy of the current state of the blockchain. Moreover, a full node participates in block validation. Whenever a transaction is added to the blockchain, full nodes verify that the transaction is valid, and thereby maintain the current state of the blockchain.

As well as full nodes, there are two other node types: archive nodes (which hold the same information as a full node, but also build an archive of historical states) and light nodes (which hold less data than full nodes, and do not fully participate in block validation). More information on Ethereum nodes can be found on the official Ethereum website.
